Not suitable if
Pregnancy or breastfeeding; allergy to hyaluronic acid or glycerol; infection, inflamed acne or cold sores at the area; a tendency to raised scars; an active autoimmune flare. Hydrobooster is a skin booster from Definisse, the aesthetics line of an Italian pharmaceutical group. It is a smooth gel of long-chain, high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid (HMW-HA) combined with glycerol, injected with a very fine needle into the upper layer of the dermis.
Why HA and glycerol together
- High-molecular-weight HA binds water and keeps the dermis full and supple. In healthy skin, HA is mostly in this large, long-chain form; with age and sun exposure it breaks into smaller pieces and the skin holds less water.
- Glycerol is a natural humectant that the skin already contains. It draws water in and helps keep the skin hydrated and smooth.
Together, they help the skin hold moisture for longer and give it a dewy, smoother look.
Dr. PP's technique
- Points designed for you. Dr. PP chooses the position and depth for your skin, so water balance improves evenly across the face.
- Cannula (blunt-tip needle). For areas that need more fullness, such as under the eyes, or areas that would usually call for filler when the patient does not want filler yet. The idea is similar to Ejal40, but Hydrobooster gives a dewier, more water-plump result because the glycerol helps hold moisture.
